I was a picnic table in third grade. It was a bog tv bpx with a red table clothe glued to it and lege cut out of it. There was place settings on top and the center piece was a bowl of my head with fruit on top. It was awesome and I won the best costume award in third grade. No one had ever done anything like it before. The next year I was a TV but I wasn't alone, other kids had cardboard costumes on too... a truck and a gas pump.

What will I be for Halloween? A 41 year-old dude who is tired of answering the doorbell and handing out the Freaks & Geeks of the candy world to neighborhood kids. Candy corn? Please. I'm inclined to hand out full-sized Snickers this year, and PBRs for the older kids. I'll put a good face on it and be pleasant so the kids can't detect my cynicism... but it'll be there, every time I close the door and head back into the kitchen for another shot of bourbon, and to eat one of those disgusting Mary Janes so that the kids don't have to dispose of it all on their own. It's unbelievable. They call them Mary Janes, and as near as I can tell, there's hardly any marijuana in them at all. So much for truth-in-labeling laws.

My favorite costume wasn't mine, but one some guys in Chapel Hill wore every year - a herd of cows. They'd sort of stampede down Franklin Street and hit the bars, coming out to mingle, moo, and jostle people every so often. The perfect drunk costume - you spill somebody's drink, so what? You're a freakin' cow, dude...

great job today.

I was batman as I kid. My mom made then entire costume from scratch. I still have pictures from it. It was rad.

I hope to dress up this year, not sure for what event yet. Not sure what yet either.

this year for halloween I'm going to be...

huge.

my favorite costume as a kid consisted of a pair of sunglasses, white gloves some newspaper and a trash bag.

I didn't have a costume for my halloween parade at school (my parents were slouches) so my bestest aunt in the world, aunt bonita made me a california raisin.

everyone loved it.

I even sang the dumb song and did some cool lil kick steps.

for the record...aunt bonita always kicked ass on hat day, too.
